LW-4: Lake Windermere (Commercial)

What the zone allows

None: this zone covers the lake, and living on a boat is barred (s. 1.4(2))

Main uses

Marina (docks and moorage, and it may include launch ramps, lessons, boat rentals and storage, marine fuel and retail); boat lifts, moorage including overnight

The zone sets no sizes, counts or setbacks.

Docks and launch ramps also need a licence of occupation or lease from the Province under the Land Act.

Like every zone, it also allows public utilities, aids to navigation, recreational water activity (boating, swimming, fishing), recreational buoys and public access to the foreshore (s. 1.3(2)).

Site-specific exceptions listed in the bylaw by legal description can add or change uses for one property, and development permit areas, the ALR and building rules apply on top. Confirm with the RDEK's planning department before you buy or build.
