Data sources and credits

Every fact on a report names its source and date. The main publishers:

  • Parcel outlines: ParcelMap BC parcel polygons, Province of British Columbia (Open Government Licence – British Columbia).
  • Addresses: BC Address Geocoder, Province of British Columbia.
  • Agricultural Land Reserve: Agricultural Land Commission (Open Government Licence – British Columbia).
  • Designated floodplain maps: Province of British Columbia (Open Government Licence – British Columbia).
  • Wildfire perimeters since 1919: BC Wildfire Service (Open Government Licence – British Columbia).
  • Mineral, placer and coal titles: Mineral Titles Branch (Open Government Licence – British Columbia). We show counts and kinds of titles, never holders' names.
  • Water wells: GWELLS, Province of British Columbia (Open Government Licence – British Columbia).
  • Streams, rivers, lakes, wetlands and coastline: Freshwater Atlas, Province of British Columbia (Open Government Licence – British Columbia).
  • Planned and recent logging: forest tenure cutblocks (FTA 4.0), Ministry of Forests (Open Government Licence – British Columbia).
  • Crown land tenures and applications: TANTALIS, Province of British Columbia (Open Government Licence – British Columbia).

Each report section names its source and the date we checked it. More sources are added as sections are built.
