Next to a highway or lots of 1 ha or less, a screen is needed: planting or natural growth 5 m wide and 2 m high, a 2 m solid fence, or both (s. 2.15.3).
Land in the floodplain set by the Salmon Valley Floodplain Management Bylaw No. 2600 must also meet that bylaw (s. 2.3).
Every zone also allows daycare, horticulture and silviculture, public utilities and parks (s. 2.2.2).
Site-specific exceptions listed in the bylaw by legal description can add or change uses for one property, and development permit areas, the ALR and building rules apply on top. Confirm with the CSRD's planning department before you buy or build.
