Composting (s. 2.2.18): a lot of at least 30 ha, at most 500 m² of composting and curing, on a sealed surface inside an enclosed, filtered building; 75 m from lot lines and rural residential areas, 100 m from watercourses and wells.

A screen at least 1.8 m high is needed along lot lines shared with the RR, RS or RM zones (s. 2.2.14.1).

Land in the floodplain set by the Salmon Valley Floodplain Management Bylaw No. 2600 must also meet that bylaw (s. 2.3).

Inside a CSRD water service area, the property must connect to the community water system (s. 2.2.15).

Every zone also allows daycare, horticulture and silviculture, public utilities and parks (s. 2.2.2).

A new lot under 4,000 m² needs 700 m² clear of panhandles, rights of way and no-build covenants; a larger one needs 2,000 m² (ss. 2.2.11 and 2.2.12).

Site-specific exceptions listed in the bylaw by legal description can add or change uses for one property, and development permit areas, the ALR and building rules apply on top. Confirm with the CSRD's planning department before you buy or build.
