What internet can I get at this property?
Providers report to the federal government (ISED) which speeds they offer at homes and along roads across Canada. A report gives the best speed recorded within about 1 km of the lot over a wired line and over fixed wireless, whether LTE reaches there, and how far the nearest 50/10 Mbps service is.
The report opens at this answer, with the lot drawn on the map and every other check alongside. A PID (on the tax notice or title) always finds the lot; an address works when it's an exact match.
What the answer means
- The speeds
- Bands are download/upload in Mbps: under 5/1, 5/1, 10/2, 25/5 and 50/10 or faster. 50/10 is the CRTC's target for every Canadian home and ISED's top band, so a place in it may get much faster service.
- Wired and fixed wireless
- Wired means cable, fibre or DSL along the road. Fixed wireless is an antenna on the house aimed at a tower; hills and tall trees between them can block it, so a neighbour's service doesn't prove yours.
- Reaching the lot
- A line that serves homes nearby may stop short of a rural lot. Bringing it further can cost the owner: ask the provider for the address, not the area.
- Satellite
- Low-orbit satellite service works almost anywhere in BC with a clear view of the sky, so a lot with nothing recorded nearby can still get internet. It isn't counted in these figures.
- Mobile
- LTE coverage is recorded where a carrier reports it; signal inside a house, in a valley or under forest can be weaker than the map.
These are the speeds providers report to ISED, not a quote or a promise for any address. Confirm with the internet providers who serve the area before you buy or build.

Across BC
97.6% of BC's 2021 homes have 50/10 Mbps or faster recorded, wired or fixed wireless; 1.4% have nothing at 25/5 Mbps or faster (ISED data released May 2026). The homes without fast service are mostly in rural electoral areas and on the coast; each BC place page gives its own share.
