Apartments up to 60 units per hectare of usable site; employee accommodation and resort hostels up to 125 units per hectare, at most four beds a unit; one dwelling accessory to a hotel, motel, tourist court, campground, ski facility, amusement park or golf course

Densities count only usable site area (resort): land in the resort development permit area with an average slope of 30% or less and no severe rock fall, avalanche, slide, flood or high water table hazard (s. 3.04).

Employee accommodation is for people working at the resort (some off-season rental to others is allowed), with indoor storage for each resident and laundry on site. Employee accommodation and resort hostels also need 1 m² of indoor amenity space per bed.

Wildland use means public outdoor recreation or tenured commercial activities such as trapping, guide-outfitting, heli-skiing and cat skiing. It needs a lot of at least 16 ha; its cabins are at most 90 m² and 5 m tall (ss. 3.04, 4.21).

Campgrounds follow the RDEK's Campground Bylaw No. 2403 (s. 4.17).

Outdoor storage is screened by a solid board fence or evergreen hedge at least 2 m tall on every side not facing a building on the lot (s. 4.11).

Every zone also allows public utilities, parks, roads and conservation areas (s. 4.03).

Site-specific exceptions listed in the bylaw by legal description can add or change uses for one property, and development permit areas, the ALR and building rules apply on top. Confirm with the RDEK's planning department before you buy or build.
