Parking: at least 1.1 spaces per campsite plus 1 per 2 employees.
Home occupation (Division 5): run by residents with up to three helpers who live elsewhere, inside the dwelling or an accessory building of at most 100 m², nothing stored outdoors, one unlit sign up to 1.5 m², parking on the lot. It includes boarding and bed and breakfast; a cottage industry (on 1 ha or more) may work outside the buildings.
Inside the ALR, the Agricultural Land Commission Act, its regulations and the Commission's orders win where this bylaw conflicts with them (s. 3.04A).
No main front wall closer than 7.5 m to the Trans-Canada Highway without the Ministry of Transportation and Transit's consent (s. 4.01).
The whole planning area is a development area (s. 3.01A): the CSRD board can require a development permit setting siting, parking, landscaping, servicing, signs and the finish of non-residential buildings (Division 2). Ask the CSRD whether your project needs one.
This bylaw began as provincial regulations in 1961; outside Zone 9 it sets no lot sizes, heights, coverage or side setbacks (Bylaw No. 168 deleted its minimum parcel sizes in 1978). Other rules (subdivision approval, septic, building permits) still apply.
Site-specific exceptions listed in the bylaw by legal description can add or change uses for one property, and development permit areas, the ALR and building rules apply on top. Confirm with the CSRD's planning department before you buy or build.
