Nogah Creek wildfire, 2024

The Nogah Creek wildfire started on June 28, 2023, caused by lightning. It burned on through the winter and was declared out on March 31, 2025. Its mapped perimeter covers 508,473 ha (5,085 km²): the largest of 2024's 50 large fires, and the 4th-largest in BC since 1990. It reached Northern Rockies, burning 508,473 ha there, 6% of the mountain resort municipality's land. The whole fire covered a small fraction of the land area of Northern Rockies.
