SW Kotcho Lake wildfire, 2012

The SW Kotcho Lake wildfire started on July 6, 2012, caused by lightning. It was declared out on November 21, 2012. Its mapped perimeter covers 2,481 ha: the 12th-largest of 2012's 18 large fires, and the 463rd-largest in BC since 1990. It reached Northern Rockies, burning 2,481 ha there, under 1% of the mountain resort municipality's land. The whole fire covered a small fraction of the land area of Northern Rockies.
