The Lytton Creek wildfire started on June 30, 2021, caused by people. It was declared out on November 18, 2021. Its mapped perimeter covers 83,671 ha (837 km²): the 2nd-largest of 2021's 59 large fires, and the 24th-largest in BC since 1990. It reached Lytton, burning 424 ha there, 58% of the village's land. The whole fire covered about 115 times the land area of Lytton.
