Chelaslie River wildfire, 2014
The Chelaslie River wildfire started on July 8, 2014, caused by lightning. It burned on through the winter and was declared out on May 14, 2015. Its mapped perimeter covers 133,101 ha (1,331 km²): the largest of 2014's 21 large fires, and the 15th-largest in BC since 1990. 99% of it was in Bulkley-Nechako, Electoral Area E. The nearest municipality, Fraser Lake, is roughly 102 km away; the fire covered about 246 times the land area of it.
