Euchiniko Lakes wildfire, 2014

The Euchiniko Lakes wildfire started on July 2, 2014, caused by lightning. It burned on through the winter and was declared out on March 31, 2015. Its mapped perimeter covers 21,090 ha (211 km²): the 6th-largest of 2014's 21 large fires, and the 95th-largest in BC since 1990. 95% of it was in Cariboo, Electoral Area I. The nearest municipality, Vanderhoof, is roughly 103 km away; the fire covered about 3.5 times the land area of it.
