North Blackwater River wildfire, 2024

The North Blackwater River wildfire started on July 18, 2024, caused by lightning. It was declared out on November 12, 2024. Its mapped perimeter covers 2,423 ha: the 30th-largest of 2024's 50 large fires, and the 469th-largest in BC since 1990. All of it was in Cariboo, Electoral Area I. The nearest municipality, Vanderhoof, is roughly 103 km away; the fire covered about 42% of the land area of it.
