Eskai wildfire, 2012

The Eskai wildfire started on July 28, 2012, caused by lightning. It was declared out on December 12, 2012. Its mapped perimeter covers 5,832 ha: the 5th-largest of 2012's 18 large fires, and the 276th-largest in BC since 1990. It reached Northern Rockies, burning 5,832 ha there, under 1% of the mountain resort municipality's land. The whole fire covered a small fraction of the land area of Northern Rockies.
