Capot-Blanc Complex wildfire, 2012

The Capot-Blanc Complex wildfire started on July 22, 2012, caused by lightning. It was declared out on December 13, 2012. Its mapped perimeter covers 3,968 ha: the 6th-largest of 2012's 18 large fires, and the 357th-largest in BC since 1990. It reached Northern Rockies, burning 3,968 ha there, under 1% of the mountain resort municipality's land. The whole fire covered a small fraction of the land area of Northern Rockies.
