Lennard Creek wildfire, 2012

The Lennard Creek wildfire started on August 8, 2012, caused by lightning. It burned on through the winter and was declared out on June 1, 2013. Its mapped perimeter covers 8,219 ha: the 3rd-largest of 2012's 18 large fires, and the 209th-largest in BC since 1990. 80% of it was in Peace River, Electoral Area B. The nearest municipality, Fort St. John, is roughly 153 km away; the fire covered about 2.5 times the land area of it.
