Tisigar Lake wildfire, 2011
The Tisigar Lake wildfire started on May 29, 2011, caused by lightning. It was declared out on November 1, 2011. Its mapped perimeter covers 11,000 ha (110 km²): the largest of 2011's 1 large fire, and the 173rd-largest in BC since 1990. All of it was in Stikine Region. The nearest municipality, Northern Rockies, is roughly 345 km away; the fire covered a small fraction of the land area of it.
