The Kelly Creek wildfire started on August 1, 2009, caused by lightning. It was declared out on November 2, 2009. Its mapped perimeter covers 20,610 ha (206 km²): the 3rd-largest of 2009's 32 large fires, and the 100th-largest in BC since 1990. 98% of it was in Thompson-Nicola, Electoral Area E (Bonaparte Plateau).
