The zone is for open space and outdoor community recreation, on land the community plan designates Environmentally Sensitive or Park (s. 13.1.1): most PR1 land is parks, beaches and cemeteries, so a lot here is rarely for sale (our reading); ask the District what a lot here may be used for before you buy.

Short-term rental of a home isn't a use the zone lists, and the zone allows no homes (our reading).

Sections 4 (general rules), 5 (landscaping and screening), 6 (parking and loading) and 7 (specific uses) of the bylaw also apply (s. 13.1.6(b)).

Site-specific exceptions listed in the bylaw by legal description can add or change uses for one property, and development permit areas, the ALR and building rules apply on top. Confirm with the District of Summerland's development services department before you buy or build.
