One house, duplex or multiple-dwelling building per lot, up to 40 dwelling units per hectare with community water and sewer or 2 per hectare otherwise (secondary units included); a secondary dwelling unit up to 90 m²

Houses, duplexes, multiple dwellings, assisted living; bed and breakfast (in a house), home business

Smallest lot for a subdivision

500 m² to 2,000 m², on community water and sewer (15 m wide)

Main buildings 11.5 m; accessory buildings 10 m with a dwelling in them, 8.5 m otherwise

The Malakwa area's multi-family zone.

Accessory buildings (gross floor area): on lots under 0.4 ha, 250 m² if one holds a dwelling and 150 m² otherwise; 250 m² on lots of 0.4 to 2 ha.

Vacation rental isn't a listed use in this zone: ask the CSRD before renting short term.

Site-specific exceptions listed in the bylaw by legal description can add or change uses for one property, and development permit areas, the ALR and building rules apply on top. Confirm with the CSRD's planning department before you buy or build.
