North Cariboo Area Rural Land Use Bylaw No. 3505, 1999
The Cariboo Regional District's zoning bylaw, which applies in Cariboo, Electoral Area A, Cariboo, Electoral Area B, Cariboo, Electoral Area C, Cariboo, Electoral Area I. Our summary of its 6 rural and lakeshore zones, read from the consolidation to 2022-11-10 and checked 2026-10-02. Its other zones aren't summarised here.
The Cariboo Regional District doesn't publish its zoning map as open data, so a PlaceDossier report can't say which of these zones a lot is in: it shows this table and says to ask. Two bylaws zone Electoral Areas A, B, C and I: No. 3504 the fringe around Quesnel, No. 3505 the rest. Their rural and lakeshore zones set the same rules (the resource zone is R/A in No. 3505 and RA 1 in No. 3504); other parts of the district have bylaws of their own. Ask the CRD's planning department which zone a lot is in, or find it on the CRD's planning map.

"Not set" means the zone itself sets no figure; general rules elsewhere in the bylaw may still apply. Each zone's page has its uses, setbacks and the general rules that apply to it.
Where the bylaw is unclear
Points we couldn't settle from the bylaw's text. Ask before you rely on them.
- R/A: Whether a house may have more than one of these extras at once is unclear: the bylaw lists each home use joined by "or" (s. 8.11.1(a) and the matching clause of each zone). Ask the CRD.
- RR 1: Whether a house may have more than one of these extras at once is unclear: the bylaw lists each home use joined by "or" (s. 8.11.1(a) and the matching clause of each zone). Ask the CRD.

Site-specific exceptions listed in the bylaw by legal description can add or change uses for one property, and development permit areas, the ALR and building rules apply on top. Confirm with the CRD's planning department before you buy or build.
