Kiskatinaw River wildfire, 2025

The Kiskatinaw River wildfire started on May 18, 2025, caused by lightning. It burned on through the winter and was declared out on March 31, 2026. Its mapped perimeter covers 26,195 ha (262 km²): the 6th-largest of 2025's 39 large fires, and the 74th-largest in BC since 1990. 87% of it was in Peace River, Electoral Area D. The nearest municipality, Pouce Coupe, is roughly 53 km away; the fire covered about 125 times the land area of it.
