Raymond Peak wildfire, 2023

The Raymond Peak wildfire started on August 6, 2023, caused by lightning. It was declared out on October 25, 2023. Its mapped perimeter covers 1,909 ha: the 92nd-largest of 2023's 119 large fires, and the 543rd-largest in BC since 1990. All of it was in East Kootenay, Electoral Area B. The nearest municipality, Fernie, is roughly 33 km away; the fire covered about the land area of it.
