Battleship Mountain wildfire, 2022

The Battleship Mountain wildfire started on August 30, 2022, caused by lightning. It burned on through the winter and was declared out on June 19, 2023. Its mapped perimeter covers 34,753 ha (348 km²): the largest of 2022's 22 large fires, and the 58th-largest in BC since 1990. It reached Hudson's Hope, burning 4 ha there, under 1% of the district municipality's land. The whole fire covered about 39% of the land area of Hudson's Hope.
