The Wild Goose Lake wildfire started on July 31, 2018, caused by lightning. It was declared out on October 9, 2018. Its mapped perimeter covers 6,841 ha: the 32nd-largest of 2018's 84 large fires, and the 243rd-largest in BC since 1990. All of it was in Thompson-Nicola, Electoral Area E (Bonaparte Plateau).
