Deep Creek wildfire, 2024
The Deep Creek wildfire started on July 24, 2024, caused by lightning. It was declared out on November 25, 2024. Its mapped perimeter covers 1,220 ha: the 47th-largest of 2024's 50 large fires, and the 686th-largest in BC since 1990. All of it was in Bulkley-Nechako, Electoral Area C. The nearest municipality, Burns Lake, is roughly 35 km away; the fire covered about 1.5 times the land area of it.
