Lladnar Creek wildfire, 2023

The Lladnar Creek wildfire started on July 21, 2023, caused by lightning. It was declared out on October 25, 2023. Its mapped perimeter covers 1,295 ha: the 106th-largest of 2023's 119 large fires, and the 662nd-largest in BC since 1990. It reached Sparwood, burning 277 ha there, 1% of the district municipality's land. The whole fire covered a small fraction of the land area of Sparwood.
