Big Beaver Creek wildfire, 2015

The Big Beaver Creek wildfire started on June 29, 2015, caused by lightning. It burned on through the winter and was declared out on February 28, 2016. Its mapped perimeter covers 7,804 ha: the 11th-largest of 2015's 38 large fires, and the 224th-largest in BC since 1990. It reached Northern Rockies, burning 7,804 ha there, under 1% of the mountain resort municipality's land. The whole fire covered a small fraction of the land area of Northern Rockies.
