Tommy Lakes wildfire, 2014
The Tommy Lakes wildfire started on August 13, 2014, caused by lightning. It burned on through the winter and was declared out on June 2, 2015. Its mapped perimeter covers 4,069 ha: the 9th-largest of 2014's 21 large fires, and the 352nd-largest in BC since 1990. All of it was in Peace River, Electoral Area B. The nearest municipality, Fort St. John, is roughly 154 km away; the fire covered about the land area of it.
