Ossilinka Complex wildfire, 2006

The Ossilinka Complex wildfire started on July 3, 2006, caused by lightning. It was declared out on September 25, 2006. Its mapped perimeter covers 1,166 ha: the 21st-largest of 2006's 23 large fires, and the 697th-largest in BC since 1990. All of it was in Stikine Region. The nearest municipality, Mackenzie, is roughly 147 km away; the fire covered a small fraction of the land area of it.
